What is Reiki?
Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a holistic healing modality that translates to “universal life energy”. Reiki was founded by Japanese healer, Mikao Usui in the early 20th century and evolved as a result of his research, experience and dedication to healing others. Reiki is best described as a high frequency energy that breaks up energetic blocks in the body to promote balance and harmony in mind, body, and spirit.
How does it work?
Reiki is performed by a practitioner placing their hands on, or slightly above their client in a series of non-invasive hand positions. During a session, Reiki energy is channeled by and flows through the hands of the practitioner and into the energy body of the client. As a truly holistic healing method, the whole person is treated, rather than specific areas.
Reiki promotes healing by activating the relaxation response which helps the body heal and balance itself at a deep level.
Important to note, reiki energy is intuitive and intelligent. It will always flow where it is needed most.
What do reiki sessions feel like?
Reiki sessions are very individual and each person experiences reiki differently depending on their need at that time. Most individuals experience deep relaxation.
Some experience reiki as sensations of heat, tingling, or experience seeing colors.
Others can have an emotional response, indicating that shifts are taking place, allowing balance to be restored.

Reflexology is an alternative treatment for a wide variety of conditions, as mentioned above, and has been in use for thousands of years. The ancient Chinese and Egyptians have documented practices similar to reflexology as a treatment for certain afflictions. It involves the reflexologist applying pressure to specific areas in the hands, feet, and ears that affect certain reflex areas of the body. Imagine that there is a connection between zones of your feet and hands that represent certain areas of your body that can be adjusted or managed through these zones. A lot of the theory behind reflexology has to do with aligning your qi, but even for those who normally don’t invest much in this discipline of health, there are plenty of scientific studies that have supported the claims of reflexologists.

Put simply, crystal healing involves using gemstones to bring balance to an individual’s life and mind.

The proposed healing benefits of crystals predominantly surround areas of mental wellbeing; including feelings of increased tranquility, positivity and focus, as well as enhanced immunity and natural pain relief.
Individual crystals are also known to have their own special energies that can align to different areas of life, with their shape and colour – as well as their type – affecting their influence.
Hopi ear candling

Hopi Ear Candling is a relaxing and non – invasive treatment for the ears. Ear Candling helps to create a balancing feeling and also helps to achieve clearer thinking, alertness and concentration.
The candles used are specially made hollow tubes made for of linen wax and various essential oils. During the treatment a candle will gently be inserted in one end and the other is lit. This causes a gentle vibration which travels down the ear canal and helps to draw out impurities and relieve pressure in the head and sinuses.
The rising air also gently massages the eardrum and helps to regulate the pressure inside the ear. Ear Candling has been known to benefit those suffering from headaches, migraines, hay fever, tinnitus and flying pressure just to name a few.
